Make plans now to join senior Insurance Industry Leaders and your Federation colleagues at the 2017 Insurance Industry Institute (I-3) in New York, November 8 - 10, 2017.

As the insurance industry confronts an ever-increasing pace of change and steady barrage of emerging trends and new crises around the world, the FDCC I-3 Institute brings together industry leaders, senior insurance executives, and their counsel to examine key issues:

  • Criminalization of Torts: Prosecutors throughout the country have become more aggressive in bringing criminal charges based upon tortious conduct. Bill Vita will lead a group discussing the impact and future of such prosecutions.

  • Early Dispute Resolution: Sean Griffin will lead a panel including Mediator David Geronemus, former U.S. Magistrate Ronald Hedges, former insurance industry executive Kim Hogrefe, and policyholder advocate Susan White.

  • American in Paris: How are coverage disputes resolved in the UK and Europe? Our panel of lawyers from both sides of the pond will explain the process before the commercial courts, as well as binding arbitration.

  • Artificial Intelligence and Other New Technologies: New technologies are creating new liability and insurance issues. Our panel will address these cutting-edge concerns.

  • Climate Change Update: Professor Michael Gerrard, a leader in this field, will provide an overview of new developments in climate change law.

  • Major Claims = Major Challenges: Explore the policyholder and broker perspective on the special challenges posed by coverage defenses in the face of catastrophic claims.

  • Reinsurance: Everything you need to know but have been afraid to ask.

  • Back by Popular Demand – The CEO Roundtable: Top business leaders share their insights regarding the opportunities and challenges the insurance industry will face in coming years.

Mark your calendars now to attend the FDCC I-3 Institute in New York from November 9 and 10, 2017. The program begins with a reception at the Sheraton New York Times Square on Wednesday evening followed by a full day of programming on Thursday and a half day session on Friday, November 10.
