Congratulations - that is awesome!
I'm so glad to hear about defense wins.

Agree with Jen! “Insanity” seems woefully insufficient but congratulations!! Excellent work. How was your medical expert able to testify about the reasonableness of the charges? That is always a challenge in NM Well done!

First - BRAVO and thank you for posting!!
Second - Plaintiff asked for $5 billion??? or $5 million? Either way - bonkers. But if it's $5 billion I'm just going to quit and walk off into the woods.
Third - I hope this makes a lien provider think twice next time, but I'm afraid it won't.
Congratulations, Whitney!

We just obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of U-Haul following a 4-day arbitration in Atlanta (plus post-hearing briefs, plus oral argument on briefs). The plaintiff alleged she fell in the back of a truck due to an access panel that was not properly attached. Unfortunately, she found her way to some lien-based care doctors who performed a plethora of unnecessary medical treatment to the tune of $600,000.00 (which notably does not include any surgery). Her life care plan... Details

As I was just starting my third year of law school at the University of Illinois College of Law, a
jury in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, returned a verdict in favor of Stella Liebeck for injuries
she sustained after spilling a hot cup of McDonald’s coffee onto her lap. The New Mexico
jury awarded Ms. Liebeck a net $160,000 in compensatory damages and $2,700,000 in
punitive damages.1

Susan,
Good morning. I'm not sure how to contribute as I've not in the past but I have noticed an emerging trend in Real Estate and Hospitality Property Claims that has triggered the need for coverage counsel in several states. I don't have access to see if there have been any relevant cases that made it through the courts yet; but I'd be willing to partner with someone to put together a write up.
The issue that Named Insureds are presenting their tenant's temporary... Details
